Mineo ITX launch

11 June 2009, Staffordshire, UK – Stone Group, a leading IT provider and the UK’s largest privately owned computer manufacturer, has announced the launch of its new space saving desktop PC range, called the Mineo and Mideo. Developed to help institutions save space, energy and money while delivering optimal performance, the new range forms the basis of Stone’s desktop portfolio.

The Mineo is Stone’s smallest desktop product based on the ITX platform. Although it is less than a third of the size of Stone’s current smallest desktop PC, the Mineo doesn’t compromise on performance. Utilising the latest ITX motherboard format, the entry level system is Atom based, while the Mineo Pro features a Core 2 Duo processor to help it power through demanding tasks.

Despite its performance, the Mineo is designed to fit neatly onto the back of a TFT screen, saving valuable desktop space. Its no compromise design provides capacity for 4Gb of memory and a hard disk of up to 500Gb. It also provides the flexibility of up to eight conveniently located USB 2.0 ports, a card reader, network interface and an optical drive.

The Stone Mideo is the new ultra small form factor based on the micro ATX platform, offering the availability of an optical drive, as well as four half-size slots to allow for a more powerful GPU card to be easily fitted.

The Mineo One and Mideo One products use an Intel® Atom processor, while the Pro models feature an Intel® Core™2 Duo processor. While powerful, the new range is also energy efficient; the new Mineo and Mideo desktops are supplied as standard with power supplies certified as 80 PLUS. An 80 PLUS certified power supply can be 80% efficient at certain rated loads.

Completing the range, Stone has rebranded its tower systems as the Stone Maxeo, which is available in two versions. The Maxeo is a mini tower, while the Maxeo Pro is a midi tower. The Maxeo Pro features a comprehensive range of disk storage options, as well as seven full-size slots for upgrade options.

Commenting on the launch of the new range, James Bird, Stone Group’s CEO, said: “The Mineo, Mideo and Maxeo meet the demands of a wide range of desktop PC users. The new range offers greater value and performance without compromising energy efficiency or space. The intelligent design, proven components and Stone’s commitment to customer service, means our new range is an attractive proposition for any organisation looking to replace, or add to, their existing desktop PCs.”

As with all Stone desktop computers, the complete range comes with Stone’s renowned three year RTB warranty as standard, with the option of upgrading to a full three year on-site warranty*.
