Overview
This cable is used to connect active components of a fiber optic system usually from the front of a patch panel allowing very high speed communication. A cost-effective solution provides lower loss and higher bandwidth along longer distances.
  • A technology that uses glass threads to transmit data
  • A fiber optic cable consists of a bundle of glass threads each capable of transmitting messages modulated onto light waves
  • Used for hubs and switches to communicate at very high speed
  • Fiber optic cables have a much greater bandwidth than metal cables allowing them to carry more data
  • Fiber optic cables are less susceptible to interferance than metal cables and are much thinner and lighter
  • A flexible molded collar at the end of the connector protects the internal fibers from any undue stresses or strains
