The APC Magnum VS is a modular -48 Vdc power plant. The Magnum VS has unique features that make it easy to install, maintain, and upgrade. The Magnum VS 100 is a dual shelf system and can support up to 10, 10A rectifiers, for a rated current of 100A. The rectifier units are modular and .hot-swappable. making it easy to add or remove rectifiers as dictated by capacity requirements, without having to change the input or output wiring.
There are two basic DC output distribution options, circuit breakers (30A or 60A) or GMT-style fuses. The DC output distribution module also includes terminals to connect a battery string and a low voltage disconnect (LVD) device to disconnect the batteries after a deep discharge. The system controller module provides monitoring and control functions for each component of the system, and stores alarm events for system diagnosis and maintenance. The system controller module enables the user to change/update Magnum VS settings, as well as monitor the system via a local computer directly connected to the Magnum VS system (using the serial cable provided by APC (please note that a standard serial cable cannot be used; the APC-provided serial cable must be used to connect directly to the Magnum VS system)), or a remote computer connected to the system over a network using a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet connection.
