Skerne Park and Hummersknott Academy had a vision to change the way they delivered and managed the IT provision across the academies to allow teachers to teach and students to learn with minimal disruption to lessons.

Having started to notice that some hardware had just stopped working and needed replacing, the IT team at Skerne Park and Hummersknott realised that if they’d of had measures in place to identify issues before they arose then they may have been able to rectify issues before hardware broke and needed replacing.

They realised that there was a desperate need for change in order to be more proactive and deliver an efficient IT service to ensure that potential problems or issues were caught before they had any impact on the delivery of teaching and learning.

After partnering with Stone to help deliver a managed service solution, the academies now have a remote and proactive monitoring system in place that:

  • Remotely checks the health and status of the network
  • Detects any problems, issues or errors on the system
  • Identifies any areas of improvement
  • Works to resolve problems immediately
