MIS Developer

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PHP / LAMP developer with the right attitude to join a long standing and innovative IT manufacturer and service provider in the Management Information Systems department.

At Stone we manufacture over 100,000 devices (desktops, laptops, servers) in our facility in Staffordshire every year. Our team of 150 staff make sure we sell those devices to our public sector clients, build them to the highest quality, and service them regularly, wherever they are in the UK. Underpinning these efforts are the systems we work from. They allow us to track an engineer to the nearest 3ft, our sales to the nearest penny and our components to 30 square centimetres within our 10,000 square metre warehouse. The MIS Developer position helps us make sure our systems talk to each other, in a language they both understand(!) and the enormous volumes of data we produce every day travels seamlessly from source to destination.

We are looking for someone with a passion for problem solving, complex issues and programming, analysis and a meticulous approach to investigation and research.

You will be taught how to access the databases that underpin our systems, and extract information from them in a format we need. Alongside PHP, we’re looking for someone with a sound knowledge of mySQL and/or SQL.

We’re looking for someone who can communicate with people from different departments and bring order to the movement of data between systems. We are recruiting for an attitude, someone who can work as part of our team, learn quickly, and who will actively seek out answers to their own questions.

There is plenty of opportunity for progression from both a salary and position perspective with our investment in your training expected as part of the role.
