Poppyfields began after Brian’s eldest daughter, Poppy, was diagnosed with a brain tumour at just 14 months old, and has been fighting it ever since.

Poppy, Lisa (Poppy’s Mum), Brian (Poppy’s Dad), Ella & Lily (Poppy’s younger sisters).

Team Poppyfields will be made up of twenty people including Brian, alongside friends and family, and Poppy herself (who is now 15 years old), all of who will take it in turns to run 10K laps non-stop for 24 hours, with some team members aiming to run 100K!

“My plan is to run/walk 100k over the weekend – I`ve done 60k before so I think I am in with a good chance of completing my challenge.” – Brian Guilder

‘At Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, we believe there’s always more we can do for our sick kids and that’s why we will always strive to do more for our patients and families.

It’s our mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use our hospital’s services, offering them the best experience possible.’ –

Poppyfields has raised over £250,000 so far into this project, and hope to raise £1000 through the 2018 Equinox 24 hour run which will take place in the grounds of Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire.
